SSSD News
SSSD2019 was held in Stockholm, Sweden, on April 10-12. Malin Flodström-Tullberg, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden, arranged the meeting with help from Per-Ola Carlsson, Uppsala University, Sweden. The meeting had 12 invited speakers, 30 abstract presentations and several award lectures. Bo Ahrén, Lund University, Sweden, held the Novo Nordisk Foundation Award Lecture, Torben Hansen, Copenhagen University, Denmark, received the Knud Lundbæk Award, and Jannet Svensson, Copenhagen University, Denmark, received The Swedish Child Diabetes Foundation's Johnny Ludvigsson Nordic Prize. Joey Lau Börjesson, Uppsala University, Sweden, received the Swedish Child Diabetes Foundation's Prize to a Young Swedish Scientist. The SSSD Young Investigator Awards were given to Berit Svendsen, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and Peter Ueda, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. Nearly 120 participants were registered to the meeting.

The 2018 annual meeting of the SSSD took place in Turku, Finland, on April 11-13. Johanna Lempainen led the organizing committee. Olle Korsgren held the NovoNordisk Foundation Lecture, Valdemar Grill received the Knud Lundbæk Award, and Pål Njølstad received the Barndiabetesfondens Nordic Prize by Johnny Ludvigsson. Daniel Espes received the Young Investigator Award.

The 2017 annual meeting of the SSSD took place in Nyborg, Denmark, on May 19-21. The meeting was organized by Kurt Høylund, Niels Grarup and Tine Hylle. About 70 participants took part in the meeting, and 38 abstracts were presented. Susanne Mandrup held the NovoNordisk Foundation Lecture and Peter Rossing received the Knud Lundbæk Award. Riitta Veijola was awarded the Barndiabetesfondens Nordic Prize by Johnny Ludvigsson, and Erna Domsgen, Helle Krogh Pedersen and Valborg Gudmundsdottir received Young Investigator Awards.
